Filing Taxes – well, that was easy!

fb-profile-2This week I worked with my tax preparer to file taxes and, while I do not think there is anyone that looks forward to tax season, I was surprised with how simple it was to make my voluntary contribution to the “California Victims Services Fund” on the CA State Tax Return form. You can simply allocate the amount you would like to contribute on Code 429 and it will be subtracted from your return amount (plus this amount is considered a donation and can be written off next year!).

$10 dollars really adds up when you think of all of the individuals and businesses that are filing taxes so I encourage you to remember Form 540, Code 429 as you file this year. This new funding stream will help bolster rape crisis centers with resources for the crucial services they provide in the communities they serve.

The countdown to April 15 is officially on, please help us spread the word!
