Training Your Advocates to Work with Incarcerated Survivors



This webinar introduces a PowerPoint presentation and facilitators guide to RCC staff who will train volunteers and advocates at their agency about how to best serve survivors of sexual abuse and sexual harassment who are incarcerated. This webinar will:

  • enhance attendees’ ability to train volunteers and advocates who will answer hotline calls and provide forensic exam accompaniment to incarcerated survivors.
  • provide recommendations and special considerations to optimize the training provided on this topic
  • introduce 2 documents that have been developed for use in advocate trainings:

a slide-by-slide facilitator’s guide which includes a script, discussion prompts, and additional information to enhance your training
