Programs
Rape Prevention Resource Center

Housed within the CALCASA Rape Prevention Resource Center are programs designed to meet the wide-ranging needs and diversity of California's rape crisis centers. The staff at the RPRC works with each center individually to explore how we can best serve them. Our goal is to assist rape crisis centers to meet the needs of their local community by providing information, training, technical assistance and support.

Projects Include:

Technical Assistance and Training

These services are available to CALCASA members and Office of Emergency Services funded rape crisis centers. We provide training on statewide and regional levels. Specialized regional trainings can be developed in response to a demonstrated need in a region of California. CALCASA also sponsors at least one statewide training per year on an organizational development issue. Centers can request individual technical assistance on a variety of subjects, including organizational development, program planning and management, information systems, and much more. Since these services are provided in response to specific needs the most beneficial response is developed on a case-by-case basis. Requests for counseling, legal advocacy or volunteering will be referred to the local rape crisis centers. Browse our on-line directory to find the rape crisis center nearest you.

The Resource Library

The RPRC has an extensive collection of books, videos curriculums, dissertations, and periodicals. These items are available for loan to CALCASA members and to OES funded rape crisis centers in California. Our collection currently contains over 8,000 items and continues to grow. It includes materials that are culturally specific, and materials that speak to the different community needs of California.

Our on-line library gives CALCASA's allies 24-hour access to our searchable catalog of over 4,000 items on violence against women and non-profit management.

Curriculum/Manual Development

The goal of Curriculum/Manual Development is to capture the many innovative, as well as time-tested, methods for doing anti-rape work. Publications range from prevention curriculums to organizational/resource development guides. These curriculums and manuals complement the materials available in the resource library.
