Pre-conference events will be held on June 20 and include the Executive Director’s Meeting; Position Specific Forums for: Prevention/Education, Intervention/Advocacy, and Volunteer Coordination; and the CALCASA Annual Membership Meeting. These events are for CALCASA members only and are not open to Affiliates or the general public.

June 21-22| Statewide Conference
The CALCASA Statewide Conference is a two-day event with opening and closing plenaries on each day and workshops based on the following tracks:

  • Building Bridges Between Victim Advocacy and Sex Offender Management
  • Serving Incarcerated Survivors and Improving Correctional System Response
  • Centering the Margins: Holistic Approaches to Serving Marginalized Communities
  • Collaborating with Campuses to End Sexual Assault
  • Advancing the Prevention of Sexual Violence

SCHOLARSHIPS

Cal OES is sponsoring one or more travel scholarships to CA Rape Crisis Centers (RCC’s) that are funded by a Cal OES Rape Crisis Center Grant.  Cal OES is sponsoring scholarships for RCC staff and to Executive Directors. 

CALCASA invites each CA RCC funded by a Cal OES Rape Crisis Center Grant to apply for a scholarship. Scholarships are given out on a reimbursement basis and will cover the primary form of travel and up to 3 nights of lodging. Scholarships are limited so please fill out the application and return to scholarship@calcasa.org. If you have any questions, please contact Villena Koumis @ villena@calcasa.org.

Scholarships are due by Wednesday, May 18, 2016.

Pre-Conference Events

EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS MEETING: 10 am – 3 pm

The Annual Executive Directors’ Meeting is an opportunity for Executive Directors from California’s rape crisis centers and programs to the gather with their peers. The purpose of the meeting is to address key topics and issues impacting the organizational capacity and programs of California’s rape crisis centers.

This meeting is only open to Executive Directors of California’s rape crisis centers.

Limited travel scholarships are available to cover the primary form of transportation and lodging for the Executive Directors of California’s Rape Crisis Centers. (See Scholarship guidelines for details).

POSITION SPECIFIC FORUMS: 1pm – 3 pm

The Position Specific Forums are peer learning opportunities for individuals, in a specific job function, to come together to share and network with colleagues in similar roles at other agencies. This year we will facilitate forums for the following groups: Prevention/Education; Intervention/Advocacy; Volunteer Coordination.

This event is for CALCASA members only and is not open to the general public.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING: 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm

Conferencia Estatal CALCASA 2016: Conversaciones Transformadoras Para Poner Fin a la Violencia Sexual

Esperamos nos pueda acompañar para la Conferencia Estatal CALCASA 2016 la cual está programada del 21 al 22 de junio, 2016 en el hotel Double Tree de Hilton en Sacramento. Eventos previos a la conferencia se llevarán a cabo el 20 de junio. Este evento anual tiene como puntos destacados una sesión plenaria y talleres que tratan de la intervención, la intercesión o abogacía, la prevención y los temas de los campus universitarios.
