September 4 | Pre-Conference Events

Wednesday, September 4 | Pre-Conference

The Annual Executive Directors’ Meeting is an opportunity for Executive Directors from California’s rape crisis/CalOES funded programs addressing sexual assault to gather with their peers. The purpose of the meeting is to address key topics and emerging issues impacting the organizational capacity of these programs.

*This meeting is only open to Executive Directors of Cal OES funded rape crisis center programs.

Pre-Conference Institutes are learning opportunities on topics related to addressing and preventing sexual violence.

Pre-conference Institutes are open to Cal OES Funded rape crisis center programs and CALCASA Members and Affiliates.

Institute 1 | A Subject Expert’s Guide: Sexual Harassment Employer Requirements

For decades, Rape Crisis Centers have been leading conversations and education on sexual violence and sexual harassment prevention. This workshop will equip centers with additional tools to address internal sexual harassment needs in the wake of California legislation SB 1343, and will prepare centers to uniquely position themselves as a valuable resource to their community.

Institute 2 | New Directions, New Tools: Introducing CALCASA’S Advocates Manual and Training Facilitation Guide

Rape Crisis Center Programs, Cal OES, and CALCASA came together to establish new training certification standards for community based sexual assault programs in 2017. To accommodate the changes, CALCASA has developed two new tools to assist centers in training outcomes and compliance requirements the Training Facilitation Guide, and Counselor Advocates Manual. Each of these tools is developed for their respective audiences, while aligning with the state standards.

This event is for CALCASA Members and Affiliates only and is not open to the general public.
  • 5:30pm-7pm | WELCOME RECEPTION

Please join us for an opportunity to meet with other individuals committed to changing the social norms for a future free of sexual violence. We’ll offer light refreshments and no-host bar.
